Watch it work

A SUPA Heater, fitted to a Lay‑Z‑Spa

How it works

Fit to your Lay‑Z‑Spa in 4 simple steps

1

Build SUPA Heater

Around 60 minutes to build the heater, with easy-to-follow instructions guiding you every step of the way.

2

Connect to your tub

Just 20–30 minutes to disconnect from your existing heater and reconnect to your SUPA Heater.

3

Connect gas & heat

Connect the gas and heat from cold — watch your tub's water temperature climb rapidly to your target, any time of year.

4

Relax & stay hot

The system automatically switches to mode 2, holding your set temperature — so you can relax in water as hot as you want, for as long as you want. You deserve it!

Just think...

If you use your tub for 3 or 4 hours a week, why are you keeping it heated every hour, all week?

£0.36

For every 1°C your Lay-Z-Spa loses and reheats to stay warm — day and night, whether you're in it or not. It adds up fast. SUPA heats only when you want it.

The honest comparison

Your built-in heater vs a SUPA Heater

Electric heating was never built for speed or savings.

The old way — built-in electric

Slow to heat. Costly to keep warm.

Heats roughly 1–2°C per hour — hours from cold
Left on 24/7 just to stay warm for the weekend
Running costs climb through autumn and winter
Struggles to hold temperature when it's cold out
Freeze risk if you switch it off to save money
The SUPA way — 31kW gas

Hot in under an hour. Off when you're done.

Cold to a full 40°C in under an hour
Heat only when you want a soak — nothing wasted
Save up to 70% on your annual running costs
Your tub stays as hot as you want for as long as you want
Same fast performance all year round

How fast — and how cheap — to heat your tub?

Pop in your Lay‑Z‑Spa's size and how cold the water is. We'll estimate how long a SUPA Heater takes and what a full heat-up costs in propane.

Most Lay‑Z‑Spa models hold between 600 and 1,100 litres.

Example: heat an 800 litre tub from 15 to 40°C on a Friday night, and from 33 to 40°C on a Saturday and Sunday and it's just £7.98 using a 19 kg tank or £6.52 using a 47 kg tank.

Typical soak: pennies, not pounds wasted all week
Volume of your tub 800litres
Starting water temperature 15°C
Target temperature 40°C
Estimated heat-up time 53min
Propane used 2.07kg
Cost — 19kg cylinder £5.11
Cost — 47kg cylinder £4.18

Lay‑Z‑Spa owner questions

Your questions, answered

Will a SUPA Heater fit my Lay‑Z‑Spa?

Yes, but it must have an external heater, so it won’t fit those with a heater in the side wall like the new version of the Toronto. Also, it only passes air from the Lay-Z unit so it won’t fit Hydrojet versions. The SUPA Heater connects straight to your Lay-Z-Spa using its existing heater and water connection points and also connects to the air outlet to create your bubbles. It converts your tub into a SUPA-heated spa. No adapters to hunt down, no special parts. If your tub uses the standard screw-on Lay-Z-Spa heater unit, you're good to go.

Do I need to drain or modify my tub?

You need to drain the tub once only to fit the connections, but once refilled it will be hot in around 60 mins. You disconnect the tub's built-in heater and connect the SUPA Heater in its place.

How long does it take to heat a Lay‑Z‑Spa?

From cold to a full 40°C in under an hour. On our benchmark — 1,000 litres from 20°C to 40°C — that's 53 minutes flat. All year round, not just in summer.

Can I sit in the tub while SUPA is heating?

Not during the first heat-up. While it's driving the water up to temperature (Mode 1, full output) you stay out. The moment it hits your set temperature it switches automatically to Mode 2 and simply holds the heat — that's when you climb in and relax.

What gas does it use, and what size cylinder?

Standard propane. Run it off a 19kg or 47kg cylinder — your choice. The screw-in regulator and 3.2m gas connection kit come in the box; the gas bottle is the only thing you supply. You get more value from the larger tank, so it it well worth considering and its only 40 cm taller. Most gas suppliers will deliver and position it.

Can I still use my tub's built-in heater?

No, the SUPA Heater takes over. SUPA does the fast, cheap heavy lifting and better still keeps your tub hot for as long as your in it; your built-in unit is left in place and untouched. You lose nothing by fitting a SUPA.

Does it work in winter?

Absolutely — SUPA is built for cold weather and heats from cold to 40°C in under an hour whatever the season. Just remember: if you're leaving the tub unused in freezing temperatures, make sure the pump is left on. As long as the pump is on and you have gas, SUPA Heaters anti-freeze will activate when the water temperature hits 5°C.

How quickly can I get one?

Pre-order now, with delivery from late August 2026. £695 including delivery. Or spread the cost over 12 months, interest free.
